Hi, my name is Danielle, I am a Portland native, and I graduated from the University of Redlands in southern California in 2020 with a double major in Communicative Disorders and Spanish. I have been at Parkwood for almost 3 years! I started at Parkwood in 2022 as a clinical aide and soon transitioned into a client services coordinator role for a year.
In 2023, I obtained my Speech Language Pathology Assistance license and have been working as an SLPA ever since. I specialize in bilingual early language development and in 2024 I became Autism Certified! Other interests of mine include working with the birth to 5 population, AAC, expressive and receptive language, articulation, social skills, and parent education.
Prior to my time at Parkwood, I spent many years in various childcare roles and as a camp counselor for school aged children. Through Parkwood clinic I also provide services at St. Francis and enjoying getting to spend time in the school settings. Additionally, I enjoy keeping Parkwood’s friends and families updated on clinic events by running our Instagram page! Outside of work, I enjoy reading, going to concerts, travelling with friends and family, playing card games, and being crafty.
Parkwood Clinic is a pediatric private practice that provides individualized, evidence-based, and family-centered speech and language services.
Bilingual therapy supports both English and Spanish equally, using one language to strengthen the other. It builds skills, honors culture, and empowers families.
Bilingual assessments help SLPs avoid misdiagnosis by evaluating communication skills in all languages spoken, ensuring accurate and culturally fair care.
Understanding what an IEP is and how it works can be an essential step in ensuring that your child receives the support they need to thrive academically and socially.
